La forme de l’âme is a live performance inspired by the writings of Jean-Luc Nancy, one of the most important contemporary philosophers. The production is based on a live performer and a completely nude corporeality, electronic music (including fragments of Nancy’s own voice reading his texts), and overhead projections cast onto an opaque stage design. The invisible substance of sound marks time—its flow—through which the seasons of the body follow one another from birth, through life, to death. The lighting, made tangible by smoke, is tasked with shaping the spaces inhabited by the body: Light and Body come to life, separate, follow one another, and eventually vanish into nothingness.
The performance premiered within the RELOADED series organized by OGGIMUSICA for the LAC Cultural Centerin Lugano in December 2015. To date, the work has premiered in various venues across Switzerland and abroad, featured in several international festivals such as the Modern Body Festival in the Netherlands in 2016 and the Festival Electronica Musica Nova in 2025 in Poland.
“Thereby the body dies and carries its secret to the grave, leaving only the slightest hint of its passing”. (Jean-Luc Nancy)
